The Golden State Warriors pulled into Chicago Monday night for a match-up with the Bulls. Many fans felt the champs would arrive conquer and there wouldn’t be much to discuss. Wrong. Klay Thompson erupted for an NBA record 14 3-point field goals.
The Warriors swingman was firing from all across the court and his teammates would seak him out during the entire game, making sure his hot hand did not go unfed. Nothing could stop Klay, including a cut on his forehead that bled in the third quarter. Thompson did not play beyond the third and finished with 52 points.
If that’s not impressive enough, the Warriors hung up 92 points on the Bulls in the first quarter.
The previous record holder was teammate Steph Curry who Klay states told him to go for the record at halftime.
