We’ve seen some cool G-SHOCK collaborations recently, especially the set of Gorillaz-themed watches. Heck, we even saw a fire Transformers-inspired Vapormax Plus not too long ago. However, we’ve never witnessed something quite as interesting as this Japan-only G-SHOCK x Transformers timepiece that includes a morphing Optimus Prime stand. Genius!
Casio and the Transformers franchise, which are both ironically celebrating their 35th anniversaries, come together for a limited-edition G-SHOCK DW-6900TF-4. As stated earlier, the watch comes with a transformable Optimus Prime stand that uses the watch as its Matrix of Leadership chest piece. When wearing the watch, an extra Matrix of Leadership piece is included to fill the space so you can keep your display intact when on the go. The red, white and blue color combo really does a good job at driving the theme home, and the grey face engraved with the Autobots symbol makes things official tissue.
The Transformers x Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900TF-4 is only available in Japan as stated above, and even they’ll have a hard time getting it; the watch will be sold via an online lottery through Takara Tomy starting today for ¥29,000 JPY ( $260 USD). Nonetheless, it’s definitely worth checking out from afar:
