Creed II becomes a box office knockout after earning a total of $55.806 million. The film officially hit theaters on Thanksgiving eve, but the turkey and stuffing did not interfere with making it to the theaters. The Creed sequel hit the record books by grossing the most ever by a live-action film on a Thanksgiving holiday.

The film acts as a Rocky spin-off and reunites Michael B. Jordan, with Sylvester Stallone. Jordan plays the son (Adonis Creed) of Rocky’s late foe turned friend, Apollo Creed. Apollo was killed in Rocky IV by Russian boxer, Ivan Drago. Rocky eventually avenged his friend’s death by defeating Drago.

In Creed II, Rocky guides and helps to train Adonis in a showdown against Drago’s son. This action film has received positive reviews as well. Rotten Tomatoes has given the sequel an 82%.

Michael B. Jordan continues to enjoy a successful year on the big screen. The incredible reception from the box office blockbuster, Black Panther, was only the beginning.
