For some reason, Leonard Fournette decided to hop in an on-field fight when he wasn’t actually on the sidelines. It all started in the Buffalo Bills’ win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and now ends with Fournette in a one-game suspension.
A jump ball resulting in a touchdown erupted into a brawl that saw Fournette take off from the sideline, which was on the other side of the field, to push and get involved in a fight with Shaq Lawson of the Bills.
ESPN reports Fournette will be sitting out of the game in Week 13 when the Jaguars will face the Indianapolis Colts. In a letter to the Jags star running back, Vice President of the NFL, Jon Runyan wrote: “Video of the incident shows that you were not a participant in the play and that you ran from your sideline to the opposite side of the field to insert yourself as an active participant in a fight.”
Some may say Fournette was in the wrong, while others will point him to being a loyal teammate. Either way, fantasy owners who have Fournette in the playoffs won’t be thrilled that he has to sit on the bench after just returning from injury.
