A 23-year-old woman will face justice for running a prostitution ring in California. Melanie Denae Williams was indicted earlier this year on charges that include sex trafficking an adult by force, fraud or coercion; two counts of sex trafficking of a minor; and two counts of enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution as reported by Rollingout. Williams now faces a life in person because of her deplorable actions.
The Department of Justice reports Williams forced a woman into prostitution after recruitment by social media. In addition, Williams forced the victim to strip off her clothes then proceeded to pour bleach on her and beat her with a broomstick. The abuse also included branding of the victim with a tattoo to the face. The court documents also relay that Williams threatened to kill the woman if she tried to escape.
Williams, the self-proclaimed “Most Hated Hoe in L.A.,” coped a plea deal in order to be eligible for a reduced sentence. Because of the plea deal, Williams will serve a minimum of 15 years in federal prison. Also, she must pay restitution to all of her victims. The official sentencing takes place on January 28, 2019.
