Vans dropped a super dope collaboration with NASA earlier this month, and now American/European-bred streetwear imprint Mercer Amsterdam is also gearing up to launch a set of stylish, space-inspired footwear that honors the 46th anniversary of Apollo 17.

The label — an amalgam for the Soho street where founder Pim Dresen bought his first kicks and the streetwear culture of his current home in the Netherlands — officially partners with NASA for this sneaker drop, branded as the the W3RD 2.0 “Night Mission.” The primarily black upper is a direct tribute to the midnight mission that Apollo 17 accomplished in 1972, even down to the “moonlight-esque” 3M detailing that glares when light hits it in the dark. Also included in the design is a silver “APOLLO XVII” engraving on the side and blue suede accents on the heel to match the signature NASA logo incorporated into the side panel as well. Overall, we definite think the three-man crew onboard of the original Apollo 17 mission would approve of these.

Look out for the Mercer Amsterdam x NASA W3RD 2.0 “Night Mission” sneaker, priced at $285 USD, to drop in the Mercer webstore beginning December 14. For a limited time, a special set of Apollo 17-inspired tees will be available as well, in addition to a “MERCER REACH FOR THE STARS” sneaker carrying case (seen above) for the first 5 customers.
