After collaborating on a fire capsule collection alongside Gucci, Dapper Dan is still getting all his things, this time in the form of a coffee table book that details his long history in the fashion-forward neighborhood of Harlem.

Edited by famed photographer & film artist Ari Marcopoulos, Dapper Dan’s Harlem features original imagery that illustrates the NYC neighborhood and those that dwell in it. Also included in the pages are portraits of friends & fam of Gucci, in addition to those that Dapper Dan hold near and dear to his story as a Harlemite that made it to the top of the fashion world by making custom pieces — some might call it “bootlegging” — out of real high-end scraps. What originally resulted in a blackballing from those elite fashion labels has now turned into a respect for his unique vision and even more elite clientele. Some of those featured in the book may even own a “Dapper Dan exclusive” or two, including designer Trevor Andrew, Steve Stoute, Bevy Smith and famed chef Marcus Samuelsson.

Dapper Dan’s Harlem launched today at Pitti Uomo tradeshow in Florence, Italy, but a wider release is expected to drop soon via Gucci Garden in Florence and the Gucci Wooster Bookstore in New York. Scan through the pages below:
