Each year, The Source magazine reviews the top movers and shakers of Hip-Hop culture and curates our POWER 30 list. This is not a list of top performing artists, so please understand this is about power and not hits. Some media outlets survey the most popular players and others check for the most controversial, but the renowned “Bible of Hip-Hop” focuses on the real, highlighting business deals, corporate earnings and all around money moves.

Last year, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine took the top spot. Unrelated to money, Colin Kaepernick made our list and was the “Man of The Year” with his commitment to justice (which has much power in many ways). Others like JAY-Z Rihanna, Diddy and DJ Khaled crashed the top 10 with their various investments that proved to make 2017 a lucrative year for all three. This year, the list shakes up even more.
