WWE’s WrestleMania is two months away and for the first time ever, the main event could be a women’s match. Becky Lynch will challenge Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35. Lynch chose Rousey as her WrestleMania opponent on Monday’s episode of RAW after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match at Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Lynch and Rousey have been feuding for months, so it’s certainly not a surprise that the big payoff will come at Wrestlemania. The two were originally planned to face off in a champion vs champion bout at the Survivor Series PPV in November, but Lynch suffered a broken nose just days before the event and was unable to compete.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported in December (h/t Wrestling Inc’s Marc Middleton) Rousey vs. Lynch was the plan for WrestleMania 35 but WWE was considering adding Charlotte Flair to make it a Triple Threat match.
With Lynch being the hottest act in wrestling today and Rousey being the world’s most declared female fighter, it just makes logical sense to have these two ladies headline the big show in April.
