The biggest news in the NBA this week has been the trade request of New Orleans Pelicans superstar forward Anthony Davis. The 25-year-old frontcourt player states that he wishes to be dealt and now has also revealed that his destination of choice is the Los Angeles Lakers. That shines the spotlight on the young collective of players in L.A. that will not likely be sent back to the Big Easy.

One of those players, Lonzo Ball, is also making his preference clear. NBA Insider Shams Charania reports Lonzo wishes to be dealt with a third team that does not already have a point guard in place. With still unproven point guard Elfrid Payton logged in as the Pelicans’ starting point guard, there could be an opportunity for Lonzo unless he just does not want to be in New Orleans.

The NBA Trade Deadline is on February 7 so the dominoes around a Davis deal would have to fall rather quickly if it were to happen before the season is over.
