R. Kelly is planning an overseas tour, but Australian lawmakers aren’t here for it.
The disgraced singer took to social media on Tuesday to announce the King of R&B tour taking place in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. “See y’all soon” the post said, with a picture of Kelly but no dates or venues.
“If the Immigration Minister suspects that a non-citizen does not pass the character test, or there is a risk to the community while they are in Australia, he should use the powers he has under the Migration Act to deny or cancel their visa,” senior opposition lawmaker Shayne Neumann said in a statement.
R. Kelly’s career has been stagnated ever since the #MuteRKelly campaign gained momentum last year, resulting in the production of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries.
