First introduced back in 1997, the silhouette was the one that ushered in the signature Feet You Wear technology — hence the “FYW” branding of the shoe itself. The adidas Consortium team developed the shoe with the innovative Torsion system, which acts as a TPU arch on the sole that bridges the rear and forefoot to allow less strain and more independent movement throughout the foot. At the time, the shoe created a new approach to the traditional style of square-cut soles, which resulted in an industry-wide change in footwear construction that we see currently manifesting again with the new “dad shoe” trend. Balanced out by a mesh/leather upper and the classic white, red and blue color combo, the FYW S-97 definitely has a place in the current market of runners out there. Welcome back!

Expect the adidas Consortium FYW S-97 to make its return starting February 16, both online and at select adidas Consortium stockists worldwide.
