If there’s one thing we can get behind, getting a college education definitely ranks pretty high on that list. Not only is ’47 promoting just that with its latest apparel offering, but the heritage sportswear imprint is specifically shining the light on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, commonly and respectfully referred to as HBCUs.

The campuses at the focus of this special capsule collection include 12 of the finest, giving props to Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Hampton University, Howard University, Lincoln University, Tuskegee University, NC AT&T, Grambling State University, Morgan State University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Florida A&M — the latter we also saw getting a small dose of homage in the Felt x Carrots collab recently. Helping to give this cool style story a real-life touch are two former HBCU graduates that have made a name for themselves in the public eye: beauty & lifestyle social influencer Alexis “Lexi” Felder and REVOLT TV’s State of the Culture co-host and media journalist Brandon “Jinx” Jenkins. Lexi, a Clark Atlanta University grad, and Jinx, a proud Morehouse Man, both exemplify the type of success stories in their own respective careers that’s a norm for those that attend Black universities. We’re sure a few of you out there will enjoy the ’47 CAPTAIN cap offerings, or maybe even the ’47 HEADLINE hoodie for a classic university style staple. Either way, any of these will make for the perfect tribute for alumni and current students alike to show off their school pride with steez.

The limited-edition ’47 HBCU Capsule Collection is available right now online, at the ’47 Boston store (286 Newbury Street, Boston, MA) and in all the campus bookstores for the featured universities. Peep the lookbook & product shots below:
