The singer’s line of sandal and loafers were pulled from stores including Walmart after critics argued against its similarity to Blackface characters. The black shoes are the image of a face with large lips near the front of the shoes.

It comes only a week after Gucci withdrew a black polo-necked jumper featuring red lips that were designed to be worn over the face and Prada showed an image of a small figurine that looked like a Sambo character that was being sold alongside one of the clothier’s purse lines.
