Up and coming Florida rapper has been charged with killing two of his close friends and then enlisted help to make it look like they had been victims of a drive-by. Victims Anthony Wiliams and Christopher Thomas Jr, who were also rappers, were shot dead on October 26, 2018, and driven to the local hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The Sun Sentinel reports, YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons, was arrested in Florida and charged with two counts of first-degree murder from the October 2018 shooting deaths of two rappers who are believed to be his close friends. He was booked into Broward’s jail shortly before 7 p.m., records show. During a brief court appearance Thursday morning, Broward Judge Jackie Powell ordered that Demons should remain in jail without bond.
Demons were the second person arrested in connection with the October 26 double slaying. Miramar police said Cortlen Henry, 20, has also been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
In an Instagram post, the 19-year-old reassures his mans that he “did not get locked up in Washington, but I am turning myself in myself today.” He then says, “I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system wants to find justice … unfortunately, a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries.”
