Philly’s stance in basketball has always been solid, whether we’re talking about the legendary career that Allen Iverson cemented during his decade-spanning stint on the 76ers roster, or the work that guys like Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are currently putting in for the squad. Nike is taking a minute to give Sixers fans a special treat to flex in for their home team with a new iteration of the Speed Turf Max.
Decked out completely in the teams signature red, white and blue team hues, the Sixers Turf Max seen here looks almost as appealing as the regional cheesesteaks that Philadelphia is known for and prides itself for mastering. Also included is a “PHI” script text across the midfoot strap, in addition to a star logo on the heel with a “P” in the middle to really drive the theme all the way home. While the black upper is the only detail that interrupts the shoe from being a full Philly tribute — grey would’ve probably been a better option to symbolize the City Edition uniforms — these are still fire and will please the city’s most earnest fans for sure.
