Editor-In-Chief of Thrasher Magazine Jake Phelps Dead at Age 56

Skate icon and longtime editor of Thrasher Magazine Jake Phelps passed away yesterday at age 56.

It’s unclear and it hasn’t been confirmed what caused his death.

Recognition from the skate game’s top figures came pouring in for Phelps, who was a regular ob Vice’s King Of The Road.

Unreal and tragic news about the passing of Jake Phelps. He was a true skateboarder to the end, a fan of diverse styles and a passion for the deep history of skate tricks. He used to jokingly call this weird fakie footplant impossible trick the “Spaghetti Western” and I will always use that name in his honor. Thank you for everything, Jake.
