Last year, social media trolls attempted to shade Campbell by questioning his relevancy as an artist, ignorantly denying his legendary status as a singer who worked with the likes of Quincy Jones, Prince, and Babyface. Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and director Ava Duvernay stepped in,  clapping back with a response that she was plotting to cast the Grammy-nominated singer on season 4 of the series. Ava Duvernay kept her word.

While the cast and crew are tight-lipped about what role the multi-platinum singer will be playing, fans of the show and of Campbell are thrilled about his forthcoming appearance in season four.

Tevin Campbell burst on the scene as a teenage heartthrob making his debut on “Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me) off of Quincy Jones’ hugely successful, Grammy award winning LP, Back On The Block. Then he appeared on the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack with “Round and Round,” written and produced by Prince. He would eventually drop his platinum debut album T.E.V.I.N. His follow up, I’m Ready, was an even bigger success selling over 2 million copies featuring chart-toppers “Can We Talk,” and “I’m Ready.” For his work, Campbell was nominated for 5 Grammys.
