With Joel Embiid battling a stomach virus and knee tendinitis, Jimmy Butler strapped the Philadelphia 76ers to his back and tied the series with a 94-89 win in Toronto. Head coach of the Sixers Brett Brown detailed the performance as “James Butler, the adult in the gym.” One problem, Butler’s name is not James.

“That was the adult in the gym. … He was just a tremendous sort of rock. He willed us to a lot of different situations. … He was a stud. He really was an adult in the gym.”

Taking the podium after his 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists performance, the swingman issued a correction: “My name isn’t James. It’s literally Jimmy.”

Jimmy’s efforts helped the Raptors win a game for the first time in Toronto since 2012.

“Everybody wants to paint the picture that we haven’t won here in however many years,” Butler said. “I’m just glad that we came out on top. We don’t care how many games we’ve lost, nothing like that.”

The series now shifts to Philadelphia where Meek Mill can finally attend a game. Wonder will Drake come to kick it with him and Michael Rubin courtside?
