Summer Walker has found a friend in the 6 God.
In true Drake fashion, the OVO head honcho hopped on Summer Walker’s “Girls Need Love.” The original song topped Billboard’s Bubbling R&B/Hip-Hop charts, ran up the streaming numbers and was well on its way to a national radio play. When Drake decided to add his melodic verse, it was a guaranteed elevation. The song is now certified platinum and has now peeked at 37 on the Hot 100 charts. The relationship did not stop after the verse.
Over the weekend, the “Nonstop” artist spent some time in Las Vegas. After all, he inked a multi-year, $10 million residency deal with XS Nightclub earlier this year. Based on his most recent Instagram post, he showed XS some love over the weekend. He captioned his post, “Everything in XS.”
After the show, Drake hit the strip club and was a generous host. Summer Walker pulled up and was gifted with racks to throw. It looked like a money phone worth nearly $10,000 or more. Summer is decked out in her signature shades as they pose a picture. First a verse, now he’s helping the Atlanta singer fill up a stripper’s purse.
Drake is no stranger to jumping on tracks to broaden its appeal, especially if they’re from the ATL. Last year, he helped to skyrocket Lil Baby’s “Yes Indeed” to a top 10 Hot 100 hit. In 2013, he introduced Migos to the world when he hopped on “Versace.” Over a half a decade later, Migos has countless hits as the biggest Hip-Hop group, and all three members have enjoyed individual success as well. Who’s song will King Slime Drizzy bless next? Rumor has it that it is Meg the Stallion’s “Big Ol’ Freak, but we’ll have to wait and see.
