It’s beginning to look like we will get Zion Williamson back for Christmas. Pelicans’ executive Vice President of basketball operations David Griffin revealed the rookie is expected to return to the court in the upcoming weeks.

Griffin was on ESPN New Orleans 100.3 and detailed Williamson is recovering just as anticipated.

“He’s progressing exactly as we had hoped he would,” Griffin said. “We’re really optimistic, and most importantly, Zion is really excited and that’s where we want him to be.”

Williamson had arthroscopic surgery on October 21 to repair a torn right lateral meniscus. Griffin states Zion will be right on time for eight weeks.
