Charlamagne Tha God helped Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris with her plan for mental health that came out on Tuesday. Harris rolled out her “Mental Health On Demand” plan in CthaGod’s home state of South Carolina on Monday. According to her website, the plan will be covered in her medicare for all legislation that will permit mental health treatment by phone or video without a deductible or copay. Through her Medicare for All plan, she plans to deliver mental health on demand via telemedicine, providing care by phone or video to all Americans whenever and wherever they need it—all WITHOUT DEDUCTIBLES or COPAYS. A couple of more highlights for me in this initiative are “Investing in evidence-based screenings for childhood trauma—including the fact that POVERTY IS TRAUMA-INDUCING—to diagnose and treat mental illness as early as possible and expand Crisis Intervention Team training, in response to mental health crisis calls. Mental Health should really be on every presidential candidates ballot. Charla has publicly supported Kamala Harris during her campaign and has interviewed the candidate on The Breakfast Club as well as many other Democratic candidates such as Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Cory Booker, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Senator Bernie Sanders. In an Instagram post, The Brilliant Idiots co-host highlights Harris’ plan to provide evidence-based screenings for childhood trauma to help diagnose mental illness earlier in life. “Mental health should really be on every presidential candidates ballot.
