The Weill Music Institute of Carnegie Hall has announced Hip-Hop icon Black Thought will lead a free workshop for rising and professional MCs, between the ages of 18-35, as a part of a series of workshops and masterclasses for young professional musicians.

The multi-day masterclass will run from February 3-5, 2020 and will see the leader of The Roots mentoring up to 10 MCs in sessions that will assist them in developing their lyricism, flows, style and delivery. During the course, Black Thought will offer private coaching in order to improve their artistry and also exploring the history of Hip-Hop.

“School of Thought: A Hip-Hop Master Class Featuring Black Thought” will wrap with a showcase that is opened to the public of the artists who participated in the workshop. The showcase will be hosted by Black Thought on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. in the Weill Music Room in Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing. Tickets for the public showcase, priced at $20, will go on sale on December 11.

Those interested in the master class can now apply here by December 6, 2019.
