Taking over the flagship McDonald’s in Chicago, Hawkins invited out media to Warm Up to the Holidays and try the new McCafe Cinnamon Cookie Latte and Donut Sticks with Chocolate sauce.

“I’m looking forward to being with my family man. Taking a break and being with them,” Hawkins shared. “But after that, it’s down to the music. My little brother, Lamar, is a producer and last Christmas season we did our first project together. We used Christmas as an excuse to just do something for the first time.”

Many people are familiar with Hawkins for his role as Kevin Atwater on Chicago PD, however, he is a talented musician who is aiming to impact the city with his music.

“We are looking forward to rebooting that effort and are partnering with the Salvation Army for a campaign. We are aiming to help a lot of people and spread a message. That’s where activations like this one with McDonald’s come in to play. We are enjoying conversation over Donut Sticks but getting to know how we can impact our community.”

The Mcdonald’s line of donut sticks and Donut Sticks with Chocolate sauce and the McCafe Cinnamon Cookie Latte are not the only things that Hawkins is looking forward to during the holiday season in regards to food.

“My grandma and my auntie usually go crazy. This is the time that, especially my auntie, has the hood delicacies. The black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day. Chitterlings you only get once a year,” Hawkins shared.

But before he gets to the food he is focused on his salvation army campaign, The War Between the Vices and the Vibes, which will bring artists throughout the season.
