Mary J. Blige is the latest superstar to get the biopic treatment. Amazon Studios is cooking up a documentary that will give us an in-depth look into the singer’s life as she struggled with poverty, addiction, abuse, heartbreak and more.
She recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of her sophomore album, My Life, and she’s gearing up to embark on a special tour to support the collection.
Matt Newman, Co-Head of Movies at Amazon Studios said of the documentary, “We all know Mary J. MJB’s doc will be executive produced under her Blue Butterfly production company. Diddy will also serve as executive producer alongside, Tara Long from eOne, Mark Ford and Kevin Lopez of Creature Films, as well as Ashaunna Ayars and Nicole Jackson from Blue Butterfly.
