When Hip-Hop heads see Cole World trending on Twitter, the natural reaction would be that J. Cole has some new music coming. The Dreamville rapper coined the phrase Cole World early in his career as a play on the phrase “Cold World” and dropped the catchphrase in his lyrics (Cole world, no snuggie). Former Houston Astros pitcher Gerritt Cole signed a huge $324 million deal to play for the New York Yankees in the upcoming MLB season. The addition of Cole looks to be the missing piece in that World Series puzzle for a Yankees team that was already in contention. This news caused a trend on Twitter with some excited MLB fans but also a lot of upset Hip-Hop fans.

Naturally, J. Cole fans were pissed to see the #ColeWorld being used on a baseball player and not the Platinum Selling MC.
