Rihanna promised the Navy that she will drop her highly-anticipated R9 project in 2019, but the year is about to be over in a week.
Riri completely shifted the beauty game and even gave Victoria’s Secret a run for their money so music isn’t really a top priority right now. Anytime she’s bombarded with the question, “Where’s the album?” she does her best to curve it.
But she took to Instagram over the weekend to confirm that the album is complete. “Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it,” the caption read.
With this piece of information, someone speculated that we will get the album this Friday. “01.25.16: Rihanna tweeted this.. 4 days later ANTI was released 12.22.19: Rihanna via Instagram «me listening R9 by myself » THE ALBUM IS COMING THIS FRIDAY 27th.”
This theory does makes perfect sense and we hope it’s true. R9 is reportedly a reggae album and will be Rihanna’s first solo music release since ANTI three years ago.
