Charlo reposted his knockdown of Harrison on social media when the two boxers landed left-hand hooks but Charlo’s put Harrison on the mat. “We threw the hook at the same time, both landed, that lion bite different,” Charlo said on Instagram.

The Houston born boxer lost the WBC title this time last year to Harrison in a controversial decision. The loss of the WBC title was also Charlo’s first professional loss.

According to ESPN, “at the time of the stoppage, two judges had Charlo up by the score of 96-93, while the other had Harrison on top 95-94.” Harrison gave Charlo his credit for the win. “Taking a year off, my body wasn’t used to it. He earned it and no excuses, I got caught slipping,” Harrison said after the fight.

Harrison hadn’t fought since their last bout in December 2018. The rematch was supposed to happen sooner but Harrison canceled due to an injury he suffered during training.

The now two-time champion Charlo said he is willing to fight Harrison again but at the same time, he’s ready to move on and build off this momentum.
