Host Nick Storm and panelists Shawn “Pecas” Costner and Willie Colon talked about various topics from humble beginnings in the Bronx to the importance of ownership.

“Growing up in the Bronx helped me build character and served me a long way in my career,” Pecas stated.

Recently, Pecas announced that he will become president of the WFLA women professional football league. He further spoke on the importance of ownership and creating a league to give opportunities for women athletes. His rationale was simple: “The UFC allows women to fight in the ring.”

He further explained to the attentive audience that creating spaces for female athletes is a big-money move. “Women control 70% of the NFL spending power. We are in the middle of the women’s movement, now is the best time to give them everything they want, including football.”

“Everyone thinks the NFL salary last forever. In actuality, NFL checks last for only a few months,” said Super Bowl champion, Willie Colon. ” Being financially literate is a must. I’ve seen so many players blow through the money it’s ridiculous.”

The panelist also gave their thoughts on the importance of building a strong team, and always remembering those who ride with you from the beginning.

“Iron sharpens Iron.” Colon stated. “When you been through enough drama, the worst person to disappoint is the one who rides with you the most. My biggest fear isn’t getting locked up, it’s letting down my wife.”

The crowd in attendance enjoyed a very thoughtful, engaging conversation and the many gems that were easy to apply. Take a look at the recap below for a glimpse into the exclusive experience created by Source Sports and H2G:
