Say what you want but the woman with the five-octave range has made history again. Carey, an artist that can rock on a track with Mobb Deep and ODB just as easily as she could jump on a Tony Bennett, has made set a record for having at least one #1 record in every decade for the last 40 years.
According to Billboard, Carey will have been in that number one spot in the 1990s, 20002, 2010s and now 2020.
How can they tell so soon? The Times Square ball has not even dropped, closing out 2019 yet. Well with the current reports coming in, her song “All I Want for Christmas” will chart at #1 on the Hot 100 chart this week ending on January 4, 2020.
Billboard has announced that she will now have passed eight of our favorite artists who have shared the accomplishment of having #1s in three decades: Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Usher.
