Melo came out swinging against his former team hitting 11-17 shots in his 31 minutes on the court. Melo also pulled down 7 boards. Despite the effort from Melo, no one else on the Blazers really got going and gave the Knicks a decisive 117-93 win.

Melo received applause from New York fans who saw their best player depart from the team three years ago to join Russell Westbrook and Paul George in Oklahoma City. Prior to his return to the Garden, Melo has said that he would love to see his jersey in the rafters at MSG one day.
