Former FLOTUS Michelle Obama has always been a spearheading a focus on education and now Ms. Obama’s new show will feature four first year college students and how they deal with their experiences.
The Year Of Firsts is slated to premiere later this month on IGTV and is being produced in partnership with media company ATTN. The six-episode series is a part of Obama’s Obama’s Reach Higher initiative.
“By sharing their stories, they’re helping others see that the ups and downs of the first year of college are something everyone goes through — and they’re creating a supportive community for others facing similar challenges,” the Chicago-born former First Lady said in a statement.
This is one of a few on-screen projects that are in the works for Mr. and Mrs. Obama since leaving the Oval Office. Others include the FLOTUS’ memoir Becoming, the former President’s yet-to-be-titled memoir slated to be released by Random House and a production deal with Netflix, which premiered with a documentary about a Chinese-owned factory in Ohio.
