House Of Representatives Votes To Send Impeachment Articles To The Senate and Introduces Impeachment Managers

After voting to impeach President Donald Trump on two counts last December, The House of Representatives voted Wednesday, Jan. 15th to finally send the articles of impeachment to the Senate without knowing the details of their process. The president was impeached because of questionable conversation with Ukraine’s president, where he asked the foreign body to gather information on presidential hopeful Joe Biden and his son.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had been holding on to the articles hoping to work with the Senate, but once seeing they would not cooperate with her went forward with pushing for a trial– lifting the two causes for impeachment: charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Just embarrassing.

Democrats and Republicans stayed two to their political agendas electing to pass the resolution starkly along party lines with a 228-193 vote. Surprisingly, one Democrat from Minnesota voted against the resolution, Rep. Collin Peterson. According to Allsides, Michigan Independent, Rep. Justin Amash voted with Dems.

Pelosi said, “We are here today to cross a very important threshold in American history.”

“When someone is impeached, they are always impeached,” She said. “It cannot be erased.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, “This is not a moment this body should be proud of. As Pelosi says, impeachment is a national civics lesson. Let’s use this blunder as a teachable moment.”

The articles are expected to arrive at the upper chamber later Wednesday.

Did you think that 45 and his admin would have nothing to say??? If so, you would be wrong. Note what was shared.

“The only thing Speaker Pelosi has achieved with this sham, illegitimate impeachment process, is to prove she is focused on politics instead of the American people,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement Wednesday. “The Speaker lied when she claimed this was urgent and vital to national security because when the articles passed, she held them for an entire month in an egregious effort to garner political support.  She failed and the naming of these managers does not change a single thing.”

“President Trump has done nothing wrong,” she continued. “He looks forward to having the due process rights in the Senate that Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats denied to him, and expects to be fully exonerated.”

The impeachment managers are as follows:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.), Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) and Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas). We will see how this goes.
