“Words can’t explain how I feel right now I just wanna thank God and Gucci For believing in me,” she wrote at the time. “He been watching me, but it takes a real n*gga to sign they 1st EVER FEMALE ARTIST. I finally have a home & a gang I can call my family.”

Well, it seems as though the mood has shifted. On Thursday, January 16th, she took to her Twitter to announce her separation from the label. “I feel like I owe my fans the truth so here it goes,” she began. “I ASKED GUCCI MANE TO RELEASE ME FROM 1017 A COUPLE DAYS AGO & HE SAID ‘OKAY’ IM OFFICIALLY AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST. Thank you Alamo records/Eskimo Records for the opportunity but I’m NO LONGER IN MY DEAL. THANK YOU GOD.”

Fans of Asian Doll may have seen this coming, back in March of 2019, she took to Twitter to express her regret in being a singed artist. “I wish I wasn’t signed I wish I was still INDEPENDENT doing my own thing,” she said before adding, “I don’t care about the hype I been the hype.”

The artist never said the exact reason why she wants to be independent, but at least she wasn’t held hostage by her contract like most artists when trying to get out of a record deal.
