In a proper way to start Black History Month, Lamar Jackson has been named the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player. He won with 50 first-place votes, becoming a unanimous choice by the voting committee.

The Ravens quarterback being named MVP was a foregone conclusion to the general public after a season that saw his team finish on top of the AFC. Jackson racked up 43 touchdowns and broke the single-season rushing record for a QB at 1,206 yards.

Showing the greatness of Jackson, he is only the second unanimous MVP winner in history and the youngest quarterback to ever win the award as he has yet to be 23.

“I’ve still got a lot of work to do. I’m not really trying to dwell on what I just did. If I win a Super Bowl, you’ll probably see a lot more emotion,” Jackson said.

He is definitely primed for successful runs for years to come.
