Justin Bieber is really opening up to his fans in a way that he never has before in his YouTube docu-series, Seasons.

The singer spoke about a time when he was “valuing the wrong things” and as a result, he started abusing drugs and different substances.

“There was a time where I was sipping lean, I was popping pills, I was doing molly,” Bieber said. “You know, uh, shrooms, everything. It was just an escape for me. I was just young like everybody in the industry and people in the world who experiment and do, you know, just normal growing up things.”

JB explained that the pressure of being a big pop star got the best of him. “I had a different level of exposure and people and I had a lot of money and a lot of things,” he said. “So then you have all these people around me just kinda hanging on, wanting stuff from me, knowing that I was living this lifestyle that they also wanted to live.”

It got so bad that Justin Bieber’s security guards had to do a wellness check on him every night. “I decided to stop because I felt like I was, like, bro, I was, like, dying,” he said. “My security and stuff were coming into the room at night to check my pulse. Like, people don’t know how serious it got, like it was legit crazy [and] scary.”
