Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury dethroned Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder. Fury has now become the lineal and WBC heavyweight champion of the world.
“[Deontay Wilder] will be a champion again, but I will say the king has returned to the top of the throne,” said Fury.
The two squared up for the second time at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night. After their initial fight in December 2018 ended with a controversial split decision draw, Fury went in to prove he is the best heavyweight in the world.
After being dominated throughout the fight, Wilder’s corner threw in the towel in round 7. Tyson Fury is now the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world.
“I just wish that my corner would’ve let me go out on my shield,” said Wilder. “I’m a warrior. That’s what I do.”
