Young M.A. made waves earlier this week when she took to social media to bemoan the absence of good R&B. The Brooklyn AG took to Twitter to share her thoughts and many of her fans and some chimed in working to put her on to new music that might feel her void. She said in her tweet:

“Music don’t feel the same because we barely have R&B, … R&B brung that balance to music.. now everything is leanin one way smh so it gets played out quick! We need R&B for the balance no kap!”

Jermaine Dupri jumped in to let her know Usher ain’t go nowhere and his song with Ella Mai is fire. Interestingly enough educating her, the way the female rapper community had to educate him.

But the multiple GRAMMY-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, producer and preacher’s kid (his dad is Bishop Paul Morton), PJ Morton, wasn’t so gracious. He had to call a spade a holy spade and really check in love the “Ooooo” rap star.

“I got it at first… but I think this take is getting pretty corny and lazy now 🥴.. There’s SO MUCH GOOD R&B!! You just must not be trying to find it.. @hermusicofficial @arilennox @summerwalker @snohaalegra @inglewoodsir @mmacayres @nowthatsmajor @emilykingmusic @lovealexisley @iamluckydaye @official__tink @brikliam @kennygotsoul @danielcaesar @samohtmusic @brentfaiyaz @6lack @raheem_devaughn @therealtank @iamasiahn @ledisi @jadenovah @tasiasword @indiaarie @ericbellinger @rahsaanpatterson @bjthechicagokid @wolfjames @rojamesxix.. There is a lot of music out there. In fact, PJ Morton dropped his new joint The Piano Album a few weeks, an acoustic compilation of his top songs. One really has to pause and take a listen to all the great talent out there. Can you tell us your fave?
