Wilder spoke to Yahoo Sports and confirmed he will use his contract option for a trilogy fight. He also revealed that he is going to Africa at the end of March and will return to boxing when he returns.

At the post-fight press conference, Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel, also echoed the sentiment that a third fight was inevitable.

“Deontay will take the time but you will see these guys in the ring again,” said Finkel. “Everyone was saying a rematch, this is it and the winner of that will then decide how it goes.”

Many speculated that Tyson Fury would fight Anthony Joshua next for a blockbuster unification match. Both Fury and Joshua are British and Joshua sells out stadiums regularly in the United Kingdom.

However, the rematch clause stated that Wilder has 30 days to activate his rematch clause. Now that Wilder has decided to fight Fury again, Joshua will fight Kubrat Pulev his mandatory challenger.
