Will Smith’s Bel-Air Athletics has announced the newest, limited-edition collection, Bel-Air Miami (Home/Away). The collection is a 24-piece drop inspired by Smith’s love for Miami and is available now at belairathletics.com
“Miami just agrees with me spiritually, vibrationally and emotionally,” said Smith, who has starred in several Miami-themed films and recorded music about the city. “I just believe places have that for certain people and it’s an X-factor.”
The collection is unisex and brings tropical hues, animal prints and the 1980’s & 90s color pallet of the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes to the uniforms. Standout pieces include the Bengal Varsity Jacket, which only has 50 available, the Alma Mater sweatshirt and sweatpants set, the Split-Time Hoodie, which is in three color-blocked versions and the VK Miami tee, which pays homage to Virginia Key Beach. Lastly, the Bel-Air Bengal tee brings the line’s mascot to the collection for the first time.
The Home/Away concept represents the cross of a comfort zone (home) and the excitement/risk of new adventures (away). The theme highlights Smith’s journey from Philadelphia to Los Angeles and embracing Miami.
Smith’s Miami connection came in 1995 due to his iconic role in Bad Boys, resulting in two sequels. He also released “Miami” off his classic album Big Willie Style.
“From music to movies, Miami has always been Will’s second home and we wanted to showcase that special connection with this collection,” said Samyr Laine, the Brand General Manager for Bel-Air Athletics. “It was important for us to capture Miami’s distinct look and feel while merging it with our brand’s signature style.”
