Frank Isola of ESPN reported on Monday that former “Coach of the Year” Tom Thibodeau would be among the favorites for the New York Knicks job if a coaching change is made. Isola notes that Thibodeau has been close with new Knicks president Leon Rose for two decades.

For what it’s worth, Thibodeau was an assistant under Jeff Van Gundy’s Knicks in the late 1990s, spending a total of seven seasons in New York. On top of that, Rose was his agent during his coaching days in Boston and Chicago.
