Yes, you may have heard this before, but the New York Knicks are in the market for a new head coach. Besides players, the Knicks are in need of a head coach and that search could lead them to a familiar face.
Frank Isola of ESPN reported on Monday that former “Coach of the Year” Tom Thibodeau would be among the favorites for the New York Knicks job if a coaching change is made. Isola notes that Thibodeau has been close with new Knicks president Leon Rose for two decades.
For what it’s worth, Thibodeau was an assistant under Jeff Van Gundy’s Knicks in the late 1990s, spending a total of seven seasons in New York. On top of that, Rose was his agent during his coaching days in Boston and Chicago.
While Thibodeau has had success with the Bulls and Celtics, one would have to wonder can Thibodeau connect with today’s NBA. The Knicks need all the help they can get. How do you feel about Thibodeau possibly being the New York Knicks next head coach?
