With over ten years in the game, Nakedi is steadily becoming the one to watch. The fresh-faced R&B singer has already made waves in his motherland, South Africa, by releasing smashing singles, selling out tours, and delivering stunning performances at the SERA Awards in Lagos, Nigeria. He now has his eye on taking over the rest of the world, one song at a time.

Born and bred in Pretoria, South Africa, Nakedi has been in love with music for as long as he can remember. The love-affair began with songwriting, then evolved to performing for eager crowds and soaking in jazz lessons from local musicians. He ensured his creative well would never run dry, and this is made evident by the release of his new track, “Morning Blue”. The hit single has a hypnotic mixture of Afro Beats and HipHop elements that add a fresh, unique sound to a saturated genre and fans are loving it.

When asked what the song means to him, he had this to say:

“The song is about being with the one who makes you feel good and happy with yourself. She is the one I wake up next to whether things are good or they are blue. They are still the same: good, no matter what.”

The song exudes a different kind of love that raises the heart vibration. This sets Nakedi apart, his passion for music and love seeping through the upbeat, catchy track with its stunning lyrical flow. What makes him more impressive is the fact that he produces his own material: production, sound engineering, and mastering. On “Morning Blue”, he not only croons the soft, mellow vocals, but all the backing vocals as well. And if that isn’t dope enough, he drops a rap verse because HipHop is his first love.

“Every song is shaped by the creative process, but also the direction of the production,” he says. “I wanted to create a mood that will keep you feeling good.”

We have to give him props for achieving his goal. The song stays with you after the last note. Like a welcome earworm, so to speak. And isn’t that what we want? If you forget a song exists after playing it once, it’s likely a dud. No risk of that with Nakedi’s hits.

When asked what we can expect from him going forward, he humbly shared:

“Music means everything to me. I look forward to making more music for fans around the globe as a South African writing with universal appeal. Sharing my creativity means more to me than anything else. My goal is to never stop and keep increasing my fan base as much as I can with my own label Naked Eye Entertainment.”
