My favorite rapper of all times aka Biggie Smalls was shot four times in a drive by shooting in Los Angeles, California. He repped his hometown Brookyln and took NYC to the top in a time in hip hop that we all will never forget. Biggie shaped the radio, music, fashion and made the world fall in love with his smooth yet lyrical bars. We loved him and still do and he is arguably considered the greatest rapper of all time.

Christopher Wallace traveled to Los Angeles, California in February 1997 to promote his upcoming second studio album, Life After Death, and to film a music video for its lead single, “Hypnotize”. On March 5, he gave a radio interview on San Francisco’s KYLD where he stated that he had hired security because he feared for his safety. Wallace cited not only the ongoing East Coast–West Coast hip hop feud and the murder of Tupac Shakur six months prior. The following evening, March 8, he attended an after-party hosted by Vibe magazine at the Petersen Automotive Museum where he was murdered.

The hip hop world was distraught.  We cried like a family member passed. NYC rap fans and teens everywhere cut school to make their way to Brooklyn to see B.I.G one last time. Biggie changed the rap game. With his crisp enunciation, rapid flow and witty punch lines, the game will never be the same.

The case remains officially unsolved. We miss you B.I.G.
