The mainstream rise of Griselda is something to keep a radar throughout the year. Back in 2017, Wu-Tang Clan’s, Raekwon the Chef, deemed the Buffalo, NY group as torch-carriers of bars and Hip-Hop. Drake showed Griselda love during his end of the year Rap Radar interview as well. Not many New York rappers outside of Brooklyn, have been able to break through to a mainstream audience. Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine and Westside Gunn are here to alter that narrative.

As their presence grows, so does their network. Griselda paid a visit to Kanye West in Wyoming after attending last week’s Sunday Service in Los Angeles, following the culmination of their 10 city tour. Mobb Deep’s, Havoc, joined them as well. There is no speculation on what the visit could mean. Ye could have given them beats, hopped on a track or was simply being hospitable a pioneer and music legend. It is unlikely that he jumped on a Griselda track since he vowed to never record secular music, but let’s speak things into existence. Whatever the case may be, it’s gratifying to see Ye link up with one of Rap’s newest breakthrough artists.

After a number of independent releases, Benny, Conway and Westside Gunn released their studio debut album, WWCD back in November of last year under Eminem’s Shady Records. The project featured 50 Cent, Eminem, Raekwon and more.
