A woman in Pennsylvania is now facing criminal charges after she intentionally coughed on $35,000 worth of food at a grocery store.

The woman entered Gerrity’s Supermarket in Hanover Township and coughed on items ranging from product to meat to bakery items and everything in between, CNN reports.

The woman was arrested a few hours later after she was removed from the store by staff. Hanover Township police state the woman is going through mental health treatment but the food “intentionally contaminated” by her will lead to criminal charges.

Currently, there is no belief that she is infected with coronavirus but store co-owner Joe Fasula stated officials “will make every effort to see that she is tested.”

Every item that was touched or coughed on by the woman was thrown out and a health inspector will identify and disinfect areas she entered.

“I am absolutely sick to my stomach about the loss of food,” Fasula said. “While it is always a shame when food is wasted, in these times when so many people are worried about the security of our food supply, it is even more disturbing.”
