In an interview on ESPN’s The Woj Pod Podcast with Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday, NBA analyst Doris Burke revealed that she tested positive for Covid-19.
Burke admitted to Wojnarowski that she could get out of the bed “for more than five minutes” about two weeks ago. Burke said that she decided to get tested because, “I started to believe, even though my symptoms did not seem to line up with the typical symptoms, I believed, given the nature of my profession, the number of people I encounter, that I did, in fact, have exposure to the virus.”
The 54-year-old Burke, who has been with ESPN since 1991, is the latest of a list of NBA notables who have tested for Coronavirus. The NBA suspended its 2019-20 season March 11 when Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for coronavirus. Gobert has since been cleared by doctors of the virus.
It isn’t yet known when or if the NBA season will resume.
