The coronavirus pandemic isn’t slowing down LaVar Ball’s mouth. Papa Ball believes his youngest son LaMelo Ball is a lock to be the first pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Ball joined the Pardon My Take podcast last week and told hosts Big Cat and PFT why LaMelo should go No. 1.
“In the draft, when you have the No. 1 pick, you want to take a guy who’s most popular. That’s one of the things you want to have — like Zion (Williamson) was most popular last year. And then the second thing is you probably want to take the best guard because that’s how the game is changing. Melo is both of those,” LaVar said.
A few NBA scouts have Ball as a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft. Not playing in college ball in the states could be a big factor in not being the first pick.
LaVar is high on his son but we will have to wait and see if NBA general managers feel the same way in June.
