Tiffany Haddish admits that she and the rest of the cast of girls trip have been in talks about a possible sequel for Girls Trip 2. Last year, Haddish told Page Six that although the first film was a major success, studio executives are not in favor of a sequel. “I’ve even written a script for it. Me and the girls punched it up and made it good,” Haddish mentioned in 2019. “They don’t want it. We understood how much money could be made, and they don’t want to pay it. So I doubt it.”

Haddish shared that during quarantine from the current pandemic, she has been on video call conferences with castmates, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Regina King, and Queen Latifah creating a new potential script for a sequel. Haddish, who only earned 80K for the role, says that the studios refuse to move forward with Girls Trip 2 because production is asking for too much money.

“We might decide not to even make it ‘Girls Trip,’” she states. “Maybe we’ll do a different story just in case no one wants to make ‘Girls Trip 2.’”
