“I killed her because she gave me coronavirus,” 28-year-old Antonio De Pace told police on Tuesday. Police arrived at the scene and found a deceased Lorena Quaranta and De Pace with his wrist cut. The couple would then be rushed to the Sicilian hospital where their co-workers worked in an effort to save them. Both De Pace and Quaranta tested negative for the coronavirus.

“She was a doctor who was working hard to save others. It’s such a tragedy,” a police officer told The Sun. Prosecutors deem De Pace’s reasoning as “nonsense.”
