Only four players remain in the NBA HORSE Challenge. In the first round, some big NBA names were knock out.
Atlanta Hawks All-Star, Trae Young, 2020 Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings, 2008 NBA Finals MVP Paul Pierce and Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Chris Paul caught the ‘L’.
However, that set up a final four matchup that will include 2004 NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups taking on Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley Jr.
Also, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine faces shooting sniper Chicago Sky All-Star Allie Quigley.
ESPN has been televising an NBA HORSE tournament. HORSE is a single-elimination shooting competition that began yesterday, Sunday, April 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. ET.
The contest includes NBA stars Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls. WNBA stars also participating include Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings. Also, NBA alumni Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce.
All games will be filmed while competing at home locations. They will compete on indoor or outdoor courts and go shot-for-shot in the traditional playground game.
A coin toss will establish the shooting order for the players, with the more senior player calling heads or tails. Players must describe each shot attempt, specifying the type of score they intend to make before taking a shot, such as a bank shot or swish.
Dunking is prohibited. The first player in each game to accumulate the letters “H-O-R-S-E” after failing to match five shots is eliminated.
The semifinals and championship of the NBA HORSE Challenge will air April 16, beginning at 9 p.m. ET, also on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN App.
